That Last 7 Minutes....

You know that last seven minutes of a really good movie? The moment where you understand that the movie is about to end very very soon but you love it so much you want there to be a whole 2 more hours?

That is how I feel about my life right now.

It is the end.

My time in LA has come to a close and I don't want it to. It technically has already ended. This is the remainder of time after. It ended yesterday and I had to say goodbye to five great friends last night. Tonight I will have to say goodbye to four more. Then I will have to leave the remainder of my friends behind and head back to the center of America.

I wish this part of my life turned out to be the Lord of the Rings extended edition and there was an hour more of footage to this semester and we had to stay longer.

Chunkers... I will miss you and always love you. As much as I hate the name "the chunk" (and yes i will not dignify it with capitalizing it) I do enjoy calling you all Chunkers...so maybe there is something to it after all. Regardless of what I call you. I love you. Have a great time away from me and I will see you next summer!

Lets face it everyone is writing this kinda stuff on Facebook and blogs right now and I'm just one of the many, but that truly shows the impact and the power that these friends have had on my life.

It's going to be a rough road home....and I'm not talking about the state of the road....

My Last Week In LA....

Alright! It is down to the final days! I have less than a week left here in LA before I start making the drive home!

It's been amazing here and now I really wish I didn't have to leave. Though I am looking forward to my good friends, walmart, parking lots, cheaper gas and just lower prices in general! It's gonna be great!

I didn't think I would want to stay here when i arrived but now I'm not so sure. Now I think I would love to live with the people I have met here (many of whom are staying and living together)

So maybe I'll come back in the fall or something and get to work on projects with Jeremy, Kelsey, Josh and whoever else will come take part in our shenanigans! Anywayz heres some starter news...

Oh man last tuesday the most amazing thing happened! Me, Brandon, Jeremy, Kelsey, and Eric went to BUFFALO WILD WINGS!

It's almost like a 3 hour mission cuz of how long it takes to get there, eat, and get back but its so worth it! It was one of the most fun trips! As we were driving we had a great time talking and what not and when we got to BWW we watched monster truck and air shows on the TV! awesome! We couldn't make it thursday so I had to settle for the regular wings but they were still incredible.

My mom sent me a gift card so I didn't have to pay a thing! It got even better because we went next door to Coldstone and got some ice cream.

I used a gift card to there to get everyone ice cream!

The total was 15.40 and there was 15.70 left on the card. Perfect...but what to do with the 30 cents....hmmm....So i used the gift card to buy 10 gummi bears! Worth every penny!

Then on the way home Jeremy didn't want to hold his empty cup any more so at a red light he jumped out of the car and ran to a trash can and threw it away. Meanwhile the light had turned green and he was all stressed out about getting to the car but we made it!

There were many inside jokes made but explaining them would not be funny to anyone else...But just know there was nothing but joy on that trip and so much smiling and laughter....best trip ever.

Guys! BITE is going out of control! It's coming together so well! Take a look at what happened this last weekend!

Thanks For the Giving...

First of all I would like to say that Monday my boss told me I could leave 2 hours early if I took her Kenney Chesney greatest hits 2 album and listened to it and came back the next day and told her what my favorite song was and why.

Needless to say.... I stayed till the end...

Thanksgiving break started Wednesday and every day since I have done about nothing...

Thanksgiving day was cool me and about 4 other people went to the Navarro's and we all brought different foods and had a grand ol dinner. I had 6 helpings of turkey! YAY! Then we continued the thanksgiving tradition that the Pilgrims did by watching Nightmare Before Christmas! I was told I wasn't allowed to sing along... sad.

We then all played some game that Brandon taught us that confused everyone, but we soon stopped that and played nerts! Let me say that it is hard to reach all the way across the table in a timely fashion to beat someone to a pile...

Then some people left and me and Brandon and Jeffery and Jeremy played LOST the board game...which is a lot of fun. We played twice until 2 in the morning.

Fantastic.

Friday I was going to work but I didn't really do much...oh well..

Today we are continuing filming BITE starting at 5...I think.... I should check on that.

Speaking of BITE... Last night I made a 30 second trailer for BITE that we released today....Check it out... IF YOU DARE!

BITE Moving Forward...

Well hey there peoples! I have missed you! Things are going super well here! We had a bunch of preproduction this week for BITE! Some of that preproduction was making me look more like a vampire. Translation: Dye my hair.... so here I am with my new hair.

Pretty intense right? The pictures don't really do the color justice. It is a reddish brown. It has a fairly strong red tint to it. It looks awesome. I have never dyed my hair before and it was fun. I really like my natural color but change is fun for a while. I love this color.

Some other preproduction was ...research. So we all went and saw New Moon. It was a pretty cool movie i guess. It was alot of talking and relationships but there was some SWEET vampire fighting at the end! I loved it. Over all I enjoyed the movie. I am team Jessica. haha. She's bella's human friend that went to see the movie with her. She was hilarious in this movie even tho she was in it very minimally.

Anywayz this thursday we started filming. We filmed a couple scenes in a bedroom that were short and not involving me. But yesterday we got up at 7am to begin filming. We traveled down south 30 min to an awesome park and a school that would let us film on their campus. We are using an area as the "town line" between Humantown and Vampiretown....much like chinatown or something. We filmed most of the town line scenes before the clouds went away and it started getting to bright.

So we went to the park and filmed some really intense running scenes and an intense scene between me and Ellen. oh man! We looked at it later and color corrected some of it and it look SO GOOD! OH MY GOODNESS! I can't wait for this to be released. It was a heck of a lot of fun too. We took some amazing looking pictures. They will be released soon. We have to sort through them and pick some of the best ones and edit them and make them look even sexier! So I expect those will be released sometime this week or next week. Rest assured you guys will be the 1st people to see these!

Then after filming some of us all came back to the room and we all had a pasta dinner. Then me and Jeremy and Eric played New Super Mario Wii! We were on the second to last level and we beat the game! YAY!

Very satisfying day.

I'll be back at OC on Dec 14th. I know its during finals week but hopefully I'll be able to hang out with most of you. It will be great to see everyone!

Twi-BITE...

Today was one of the funnest days! So my friend Kelsey is making a documentary on the Twilight craze and yesterday me and brandon went with her down to Santa Monica to the theater where New Moon will premiere.

There we talked and interviewed several people that have been camped out for the premiere since thursday and the premiere is on Monday! It was fun. We talked to members of a website called "Twilight Mom." Awesome.

There were some 36 year old women who met at the line for Twilight last year and then they became best friends and last year flew to Italy to go set stalking for some of the scenes shot in Italy for New Moon. Crazy. There were some ridiculous stuff. There were also five 16 year old girls camped out that we interviewed that had their dad there with them! Poor guy.

We also saw the creator of the Twilight and New Moon board game and he challenged a bunch of people to the game and whoever beat him would get the game. It was really funny watching all of the people playing trivia for New Moon and stuff. Haha.

Later that night me and Jeremy, Kelsey, Brandon, and Josh went to the center and hung out. We watched Twilight for some research for 2 projects we are working on for kinda spoofs on it. Hopefully they will go well.

One project is a short webseries that will be like a spoof of Twilight. Tentatively called BITE.

The other project is a Twilight Rap.... Josh Kennedy is nearly finished with it and from what I have heard so far....oooh its gonna be funny!

Last night Jeremy got on a roll and he wrote like 10 short scripts for the mini episodes for the webseries we are going to try to film that is kinda like a Twilight spoof. It was crazy. We are going to have a meeting tonight to discuss everything! I'm so excited! I get to be a vampire! I might have to dye my hair some color so I look more vampire-y! I have always wanted an excuse to dye my hair some color....mostly black. But they said black would make me look more like a punk or something instead of a vampire....so we will see what happens.

Also If you havn't seen this SNL spoof of Twilight....very worth it!

This Week: Faster Than A Speeding Bullet Point...

Nothing to interesting has happened in the past week. It went by so fast too! I hardly can remember a thing...Honestly... I'll just give some bullet points of stuff that happened that I DO remember...

• I saw the Fantastic Mr. Fox at a free screening the other night and it was a pretty funny movie. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to laugh.
• Some of Ellen's family came in town and we had a small party get together for them.
• Gave a presentation in class about the movie Stigmata.
• Went to the Price is Right again.
• Talked to my girl on Skype a few a hours after she jumped out of a plane.
• Went to In N' Out again and talked to Jimmy.
• Started working on a new side project...exciting!

The In N' Out Experience...

Last night I decided to treat my roommate slash director of our weekend film to some Panda Express. So we got in my car and went to the Beverly Center to get some. The beverly center is a 8 floor mall where the food court is at the 8th floor. So after we rode about 30 mins worth of escalators we reached the top only to see it was closed...We about figured it out when we got to the seventh floor and seeing all of the shops closed. Figures...

But now I am SO GLAD PANDA WAS CLOSED!

God said no....I have something better for you...

Me and Josh decided In N' Out would be good. So we paid the money to leave the parking lot after buying nothing and set out for Sunset Blvd. We arrived at In N' Out and went inside where we approached the counter where Jimmy took our order. Jimmy was a cool dude and as I ordered a Strawberry shake this kid that was probably 10 ran up to me and yelled

Kid - "DON'T GET STRAWBERRY! GET CHOCOLATE! IT'S BETTER!"

Jeremy - "yeah, are you sure?"

Kid - "Yeah! It's the best flavor!"

Josh - "Whoa now. Everyone knows Vanilla is the best flavor."

Kid - "No it's not! Chocolate is!"

Josh - "I think I'm a little bit older...I think I know about these things."

So while Josh is in a heated debate over which of the primary flavors is better I am contemplating listening to this tiny sales man. I think this kid seems to know something I don’t so I change my order to chocolate. As we walk away to get our drinks Josh leans over and says...

“This better be good kid."

Halejeluah this was just Act one! So we went and got our drinks and waited for them to call our order. As we walked over to get our drinks the security guard pulled Josh aside to see if the kid was causing trouble. She had some sort of thick accent that was hard to understand but we told her that the kid just was recommending chocolate over strawberry and the whole story.

Guard - "You should mix them together."

Jeremy - "Chocolate and Strawberry? Sweet! Get a chocolate strawberry shake!"

Josh - "Did you mean chocolate and vanilla?"

Then the woman just looks at us and raises her eye brows...I don't think she knew what we said but she just stared at us.

Josh - "Haha. I suppose either one!"

Guard - "You mix chocolate and coffee. Delicious"

Josh - "Oh yeah?"

Guard - "Yes. You mix chocolate and coffee...you be up for 2 days"

Josh - " I wouldn't want to go to sleep after that. I would want to celebrate!"

After that we went to wait for our food. So when they called "19" I went to get my order and who should appear but the same kid! He continued to fill my head with In N’ Out wisdom.

Kid - "Next time get your burger with lettuce and extra EXTRA spread! It's better that way!"

Oh yes, he said double the extra.

Jeremy - "Man you seem to have all the answers."

Kid - "I'm an In N' Out pro! Also dip your fries in the spread! It's good!"

Jeremy - "Alright man. I'll get some extra EXTRA spread."

Josh - "You haven't steered us wrong yet."

That kid had all the answers! He was right about the spread and fries. Josh was like man that kid isn't full of crap after all! So as we were eating outside Josh was trying to aim his camera on his phone behind him to get a picture of this guy behind us that was wearing a naval neck! It was a V neck that was all the way down his chest. It was unreal. After Josh failed at that we continued eating while I was telling Josh how I have always wanted to just sit at one of those 4 person tables where there is only 2 people sitting there and just join them.

I then decided I wanted to eat dinner with Jimmy, In N’ Out Pro kid, and the security guard. That would have made my night.

As I’m talking a legit bicycle gang came flooding around the corner. I like how Josh describes it saying

“And these just aren’t any bikes. These are custom, sick looking, flashy, street-cruisin bikes. I don’t know how else to explain them without being offensive.”

Like 12 guys and girls on bikes came around the corner and we were weirded out. Josh was about to say to the guy at the table next to us "man, looks like somethings going down" when the guy yelled out

"WHERE THE F**K YOU BEEN! I BEEN HERE FOR LIKE 15 MINUTES!"

Josh was so glad he held his tongue.

It was a few minutes later when 2 of the bikers sat down at our 4 person table! Just like I had talked about earlier! It was perfect!

It was also awkward because me and Josh had finished our food, but we wanted to stay and talk to them. However, we didn’t want to look like “lingerers” as Josh said.

So as we got up to leave Josh asked them where they biked from.

I think he said the biked around the Parcenon...whatever that is... Probably not the Parthenon thats way to far.

We left talking about how funny it would be to have a chase scene right now. Just take one of the bikes and just start riding at top speed. They would all get on and start chasing us down La Brea. Dodging out of traffic, running red lights, looking back and seeing this flood of guys on bikes yelling at us! Then the scene would cut back to the guy left behind just sitting there sipping on his In N' Out drink. Then back to us as we reach our apartment and lock ourselves in our room as they are bangin on the door. We would throw the bikes out the window to appease them.

Now Josh has some material to put into his screen play.

The Best Things In Life Are Free....but you still have to validate your parking..

Yesterday started off splendidly. Unfortunately it had to start at 8am! It was then that I had to leave my apartment to meet my friends Dave and Brent in front of the CBS studio. There we waited in line for 3 hours and went through processing and at 12pm we were sitting in the audience of THE PRICE IS RIGHT! Thats right! Sadly, I was not told to "come on down." Though it seemed like i was in the winners area because 3 people from around me were told to come down to contestants row. It was fun in the commercial breaks because Drew would talk and tell stories. This one random girl yelled out that he wasn't paying attention to her. She was apparently talking about Drew paying attention to one side of the audience more than the other. So Drew put on "You'll Never Find" by Lou Rawls (look it up if you don't know what it is) And he danced with her the whole commercial break. He started taking his jacket off and tie and it was all very sexy. Then 30 seconds before we came back on the air a team of makeup artists attacked him with hairbrushes, makeup, and lint rollers and fixed his tie all in a matter of seconds. CRAZY.

We clearly did a Charlie's Angels type thing...I think iI'm Lucy Lou...So look for me Jan. 11th! Ill be next to like 2 winners!

Today was even better! Well first there was work where I was asked my opinions on preliminary ideas for posters for "The Crazies" I divided them up into piles of "no way" "eh...whatever" "not to bad" and "Scrumtrelencent" So I chose like 5 to be in the best category out of like 30 posters. I showed my boss and said why and stuff. I come to find out later after a meeting...I chose every single one that the head of the company liked! How sweet is that?!

I was mega tired from not very good sleep for the past 2 weeks so I took a 3 hour nap right when I got home. Then I had class...that part wasn't that fun. However, at 630 I went out to the Arclight. I did this because I won free tickets to a movie called "Gentlemen Broncos."

The movie was made by the same guy who made Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. It was pretty dang funny. It's about a young writer who writes a scifi story and enters it in a contest to be judged by his favorite author. His favorite author then proceeds to steal his book and publish it as his own. The famous author is played by none other than Jermaine Clement from the Flight of the Conchords! To top it off.... JERMAINE WAS THERE! He came out with a mic. in character and talked for like 10 minutes! Here is his author's picture on the back of his "book."

He started his talk with something like this "Imagine a world where hyper-intelligent dinosaurs...have discovered the internet...not only discovered....but hacked into the government mainframe....Could this happen? Where could this happen? How did this happen? When did this happen?" Amazing. Simply amazing! He was right there in front of me! The movie was pretty funny too. Odd. Like all of Jared Hess's movies but still good.

Awesome! So its been a pretty cool 2 days! Now its back to work. We have 2 days before we film our big final project. So pray that goes well! We have to shoot Saturday and Sunday cuz thats when our actors could do it! Thats right I'm filming on Halloween...bummer. I was going to glue sponges to myself and be "Self absorbed."

Undead But Still Here....

MAN NIGHT!

Friday night was MAN NIGHT! Whenever you said it you had to yell/grunt it. That was part of the rules of man night.

We had the night starting off with talking about manly stuff and what not! Meanwhile I whipped up some Frito casserole. Everyone enjoyed it....LIKE A MAN! As you can see, I had many different beverages to choose from for man night!

I of course chose the Cactus Cooler

Quickly after that I busted out some halloween cinnamon roles! That means the icing was ORANGE! ARRR! Then we moved into the main course... Texas Hold 'Em. We set up shop with snacks and chips (both edible and bet-able.)

Soon the game was underway and Eric grew tired

Right when Jeremy thought he had Mike, Mike began to turn it around....much to the dismay of Jeremy

Then things started to get crazy....

The Strangest Care Package...

So my mom sent me a care package today. It had a strange assortment of things and I just thought i would share.....

First off I got some Charleston Chews. Straight from good ol' Charleston! yum!

Yummy Yummy Zukini bread. I tore through most of it with in like the 1st four minutes of owning it.

I got some scary gummy spiders. They were not that gummy but they were pretty good.

I got the ugliest "sunglasses" imaginable. I put sunglasses in quotes because i don't think they really do anything. However if you look closely they UV protection sticker is on it. So maybe they are... but I don't think Elton John would touch these.

I got some spider webs that the gummy spiders produced. I packaged it but got my hand stuck in it.

There was also bubble wrap in there....bubble wrap is fun.

MY MOM SENT ME AN ARM! I was horrified to see some dismemberment sent to me in a box. I often wonder whose arm that is as it sits in my corner.

So that was the strangest care package I have ever received. Love you mom!

A Moving Picture Is Worth A Jillian Words...

Well so far I have created 2 short 5 minute films in this program that some parts I am pleased, other parts I'm not. Its hit or miss. Tell me what you think of my films. Surprise, surprise, they are both comedies! Way to think outside your box Jeremy....

The ending song to You Suck entitled "Narnia Business" was made by my roommate Josh Kennedy. He is the announcer and a very funny man. You can watch it in HD!

Brand New, Things To Do...

I havn't had the time to report this so I will now.... Sunday night I saw Brand New in concert! It was epic. Manchester Orchestra opened for them and they were pretty intense too. I rocked twice as hard for me and Kristi. I went crazy! I thought i wasn't going to have a voice the next day but fortunately I did. The crowd was crazy we kept shoving and jumping and it was great. Brand New even played like most of their hit stuff along with stuff from the new album. I didn't expect them to do that. They played Jude law and a semester abroad and then Sevendy Times 7. They also played Glory fades and tommy gun. It was fantastic. I wish Kristi could have been there to see them...i know she would have loved it....if she could see above everyones waist.

I even looked for something for her at the merch area...but nothing was cool enough to get.

Now I had the craziest tuesday. I had like 234523 things due today. I had my movie, 2 papers, acting class, and a small project due. So I had to get all that done. It was rough....but in the end I'm done and out the other side.

I had my acting class tonight and this is one of the few times i didn't leave feeling completely defeated. So that was cool.

Also I totally forgot to put up my other video that I made...Ill do that tomorrow. I'm not particularly proud of either of the movies but they are ok I guess. I'm more proud of my acting in other peoples videos...Ill be able to show you guys those when i get back home.

A Toast To Taylor and Courtney...

I never got to make a toast at the Taylor and Courtney wedding. Though I had one prepared. I didn't want it to go to waste i guess so I typed it out so I could give it....through my blog i guess. So if I had given some sort of a toast or speech, it would have gone something like this....and just for Taylor... it's in Helvetica...

I have known Taylor for only about 4 years. Not terribly long in terms of a friendship, but the relationship we have developed over those short years has made a lasting impression that will echo through out my life. I consider him my best friend and maybe the best friend I have ever had. I love him.

However, that is nothing compared to the friendship and love I have seen in his and Courtney’s relationship. I think it might be safe to say that I, above everyone else, have had the privilege of seeing their relationship grow the most. I can’t precisely remember when I met courtney or how our relationship grew but I came to love her as quickly as Taylor. Living with Taylor for the past years there have been many times where I have been the 3rd wheel in our room as we all watch a movie, a TV show, eat dinner, or play games. Needless to say I have been with Courtney and Taylor quite a bit and never in my whole life have I seen such a wonderful, godly, and inspiring relationship.

I have gone to church with them and seen there passion for the Lord. I have watched them selflessly help with many events and organizations that benefit the poor and the poor in spirit. I have had them pray over me and bless me with encouragement. I have seen them map out their lives in order to live it to God’s will. I have witnesses their capacity for love and seen it played out in their actions and words.

I don’t know if I will ever see a love more powerful than theirs, but I can only hope that mine might equal, even if only, just a fraction of what they have. If I could achieve even a portion of what they have I know I would be happy the rest of my life. They are the love that inspires me. They are the love I want to model my own relationships after.

Though I lament relinquishing him to his new roommate, I know I wouldn’t have it any other way. Courtney is who he is supposed to be with. No question. I would wish them the best of luck, but I know they won’t need it. They have God, a blessed relationship, and each other and that is worth all the luck you could ever imagine.

I have no advice to give because anything I could ever say about this subject will never be as beautiful, accurate, or eloquent as the words written by Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always trusts, always hopes always perseveres. Love never fails.”
